It's a good competitor for an Incursion level game. However, for a solid big army vs big army option, the options narrow down. Most players just want to show up and play and have a good time, so if being part of a competitive team is required then you naturally have fewer people participating. Same with online games. A bunch of people are solos and the current format supports solos and people on a team versus requiring a group.Orks look to have overperformed peoples expectations with a 53% win rate, 3 X-0/X-1 placings with one making into the final game. Tau had the most X-0/X-1 placings by far with 13 of their 61 players a full 21% making it into the top 100. Their 56% win rate reflect that. Codex SM's highest placing list was and Iron Hands list at 148 that went 4-2. Yes, the short answer is 150 shots times what comes out to an effective 54% chance to hit. An aspect that plays a role in AoS, but is much less important in 40K, is positioning in combat. All weapons have a range stat, from 1" to 3". A model needs to be in range of an enemy model.
